5G Network and Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a developing country. After getting freedom in 1971, Bangladesh has developed in every sector such as economic, social, educational, technical and so on. On March 16, 2018, the country was adorned with a crown for its achievements in development. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF),‘‘Bangladesh is among the three fastest growing economies in the world’’. In order to ensure better telecommunication service and keep pace with almost all the modern and enlightened nations, Bangladesh is launching the country’s first satellite named ‘Bangabandhu-1 satellite’. Besides, Bangladesh has seen phenomenal growth in Internet usage. Due to government, various initiatives are known as an a2i project open Hotspot zone, government offices with internet facility, Reduce bandwidth price, etc have impacted the growth of users. More than 9 crore active internet users in our country, to give them proper facilities and opportunities, 19 February 2018, Bangladesh has launched 4G internet network services. Besides government also ponders about 5G and it will be launched in the near future 2023. “Bangladesh has moved up in the Digital Bangladesh Index. Last year, we successfully completed the 5G test. 5G will be a big advancement for Bangladesh as it will bring about a digital revolution,” said telecommunications and information and communication technology (ICT) minister Mostafa Jabbar and also added that the “5G internet services will be introduced in Bangladesh in between 2021 to 2023”.
5G networks have arrived and this next generation of wireless is being powered by a new technology known as millimeter wave (mmWave). According to GSMA, mmWave 5G will not only provide consumers ultra-fast mobile broadband services, including immersive entertainment but will also stimulate a host of applications that will enable citizens and businesses to do tomorrow what they cannot do today. These innovations include enhanced remote healthcare and education, industrial automation, virtual and augmented reality and many other sectors too. In healthcare, improved telemedicine, including tactile internet capabilities, better preventive medicine that uses always-on remote sensors and wearable, remote surgery and ‘smart’ instruments will be made possible because of the speed and latency capabilities enabled by the mmWave spectrum.

Advantage of 5G

The 5G network is a process to realize and participate in the socio-economic benefits delivered by an advanced, data-intensive, digital economy and other categories. It has ample advantage in all sectors, Such as…

• Higher Speed network
The 5G network is the higher speedy network that means a thousand times faster than a 4G device. The significantly higher throughput rates that around 10 times greater than 4G, will also make online gaming and general 4K video streaming possible at blazing speeds. No more frustrating waits for a web page to load!

• Wireless infrastructure to connect the world:
Broadband connectivity will acquire the same level of importance as access to electricity. It will continue to play an important role in this context as it will act as a key pillar in enabling mobile service delivery and information exchange. Wi-max, WIFI, Bluetooth and other wireless infrastructures connect the world.

• Educational platform:
By using the 5G network all can learn easily from anywhere at any time. E-learning, M-learning systems can change the methods of education by providing easy access to digital textbooks or cloud-based storage of knowledge on the Internet, boosting applications such as e-learning etc.

• In Medicine:
5G promises to bring a wealth of new features especially in the area of mission-critical Internet of Things applications. IoM has also enabled virtual office visits, subscription-based health care, and internet-enabled wearable devices that can detect acute illnesses faster. Robotic surgery, precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body is also possible for 5G technologies and network.

• In Communication:
Next-generation robots, remote object manipulation controlling machines with precision at distances, drones and other real-time control applications in digitized industrial centers. In autonomous transport, 5G will enable driverless vehicles to continuously communicate with each other, the cloud and the physical environment to create highly efficient public transport networks. All these make easy to communication systems.

Challenges of 5G..
To promote the 5G network, it will face some challenges too. Such as

• Frequency bands:
Though 4G LTE already operates on established frequency bands below 6GHz, 5G requires frequencies- all the way up to 300GHz. So it makes problem to operate the 5G network in the country. The challenge is that 5G antenna while being able to handle more users and data, beam out over shorter distances.

• Huge Cost:
Building a network is expensive, and carriers will raise the money to do it by increasing customer revenue. Much like LTE plans incurred a higher initial cost, 5G will probably follow a similar path. And it’s not just building a layer on top of an existing network. So it takes more expensive.

• Device support:
There’s plenty of talk about 5G-enabled Smartphone’s and other devices, but their availability will hinge on how expensive they are for manufacturers to make, as well as how quickly ubiquitous the network becomes.

• Security and privacy:
Present time security and privacy would be a challenge with any data-driven technology. And the 5G rollout will have to contend with both standard and sophisticated cybersecurity threats. A few months ago, Huawei and Facebook are some of the big players who have already faced this problem. So it is also a big challenge for the 5G network.

• Making 5G Available to Everyone:
It is urgent that 5G network possibility have to ensure for all. If it is not possible, then a lot of people will stay outside of proper network advantage. And they will not get the opportunity and possibility. So 5G network available to everyone is another challenge.

5G is designed to work with diverse application and the complexity is one of the major challenges to address. Since 5G is a platform for many wireless technologies to co-exist, technology providers have to overcome challenges in terms of the signal spectrum, transmission protocols, security and network compatibility, etc. Due to the huge demand for a smarter network, the 5G standard has been evolving faster than the expected timeline.
